Tim Shanahan

Chair, Future Battery Industries CRC

Tim Shanahan is a highly respected adviser and director in a range of organisations. He has led key Western Australian organisations that have shaped the State, including the Chamber of Minerals and Energy, the WA Municipal Association, and more recently the Energy and Minerals Institute at The University of Western Australia (UWA).

In April 2018, Tim became Chair of the Cooperative Research Centre Bid for New Energy Industry based around Australia’s emerging lithium and battery component capability. In January 2018 Tim became the Chair of WA SuperNet, a project with the objective to bring enterprise level broadband to businesses in the WA Grainbelt. He is also chairing the SteerCo, comprising the CEOs of the funding partners CBH and Arc Infrastructure.

Tim has been chair of the Western Australian Regional Development Trust, the Telstra Regional Advisory Council for WA and the Australia Day Council, Western Australia. Tim was honoured with a Public Service Medal in 2001 and in 2003, he was awarded a Centenary Medal. He was also the recipient of the 2007 WA Gas Industry Development Award.
